RULES THAT MIGHT TRIP YOU UP

The non-obvious ones — worth a look before they cost you a week. Everything here is in the full rules; this is just the stuff people don't assume.

Two games in a week? Only the best one counts. A player's weekly score is his single highest-scoring match, never the sum — a double gameweek is not a double payday.
A new signing can't wear the armband for three weeks. The quarantine stops anyone laundering captaincy through the wire.
The armband is spent the moment your captain plays. A blank still burns it, and you get only six uses on any one player all season — pick him, he steps on the pitch, it's gone.
A keeper is a team slot, not a person. You draft a club's goalkeeping position; whoever pulls on the gloves that week scores for you. There is no drafting "their No. 1".
One surprise bench is free; two is a zero. The lowest of your six starters is dropped every week, so a single benching is absorbed — but a second one counts as a nil in your five.
You don't pick your draft seat. The order is drawn once at random and rotates every league; nobody chooses where they pick.
Sell someone and nothing refills the hole. Short rosters stay short until you add a body yourself; the game won't warn you.
The scoring matrix is frozen. You can't argue a player's points — the numbers are the numbers.
